Copyright and Intellectual Property Complaints

This Policy explains how Default File ("Default File," "we," "us," or "our") handles notices of alleged copyright or other intellectual property infringement relating to Default File at defaultfile.com. It is designed for use by rights holders worldwide, including under Indian copyright law and procedures commonly used for online services (including DMCA-style notices where relevant).

Operator: Default File · Domain: defaultfile.com

1. Respect for intellectual property

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect users of Default File to do the same. Content on the Service that we create or license is protected as described in our Terms of Service.

If you believe that material available through the Service infringes your copyright or other intellectual property right, please submit a notice as described below.

2. How to submit a complaint

Send a written notice to copyright@defaultfile.com with the subject line "IP Infringement Notice". To help us evaluate your complaint promptly, please include:

(a) Identification of the copyrighted work or other IP right claimed to have been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are covered by a single notice.

(b) Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including the URL or other reasonably sufficient information for us to locate the material on the Service.

(c) Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.

(d) A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.

(e) A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury (or equivalent solemn declaration), that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder.

(f) Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is acceptable for email).

3. Our process

Upon receiving a complete notice, we may remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material, notify the user who posted or generated a link to it where applicable, and take other action we deem appropriate, including termination of repeat infringers' access where accounts exist.

We may share your notice with the affected user or with our advisors. Submitting false or bad-faith notices may expose you to liability under applicable law.

4. Counter-notice

If material you provided was removed and you believe the removal was mistaken or that you are authorized to use the material, you may send a counter-notice to the same email address including: identification of the removed material and its prior location; a statement under penalty of perjury (or equivalent) that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and telephone number; consent to the jurisdiction of competent courts as described in our Terms of Service; and your signature.

We may restore material in accordance with applicable law after receiving a valid counter-notice, unless the original complainant seeks a court order restraining restoration.

5. User Outputs

Certain tools generate or export visual materials based on user parameters. Disputes regarding ownership or infringement of User Outputs are generally between the complainant and the user. We may still remove access to hosted links or related Service features where we host or facilitate distribution, to the extent applicable.

6. Trademark complaints

For alleged trademark infringement, provide the trademark registration details (if any), the jurisdiction of registration, a description of the confusing use on the Service, and the contact information and statements described in Section 2, adapted as appropriate for trademark claims.
